So Your Bathroom is Cramped…
Author: S Runge
Many people are stuck with small bathrooms. The cramped space makes a bathroom less than ideal to say the least. In the past 5 years a new trend of bathtub removal became the answer. Removing the tub and replacing it with a spa shower is a move many homeowners are making.
How Will This Affect the Return On My Investment?
Good Question. The National Association of Realtors claims, as long as your home has one bathroom with a tub you shouldn’t have any problems. If you have a home with one bathroom and plan on flipping your investment soon you may want to reconsider. Many families with children prefer a tub to bathe the kids in. Having no tub in the home could affect that whole genre of potential home buyers.
Other Things to Consider…
Of course another consideration is do you prefer baths? Many people don’t even use the bathtub at all. Many people only use the shower. If this is the case then this is a good option for you. If you plan on staying in your home for years to come it is a great way to give you some breathing room in the bathroom. Walk-in spa showers are an amazing replacement to your bulky, underused, tub.
